One thing I have always heard about pageant girls was that they are "ditzy." Until I became one myself, I completely agreed with this theory. I assumed that because the girls were too busy hairspraying their hair, tanning, working out, and putting on make-up that there was no way they were really that smart. Last fall, I decided to participate in a pageant. I wanted to see just how well I would do. Turns out, I did pretty well! I made the Top 15 and won Best Swimsuit at the state pageant. However, I did not make Top 10 because I was extremely sick. I was determind to redeem myself and I competed in Miss LSU. However, I did not make "Top" anything that pageant. Extremely disappointed in myself, I decided pageantry was not for me. However, hopeful news came into play! Mrs. Tiffany Dufrene (a judge for Miss LSU) gave me a call and asked if I would be interested in representing Louisiana at Miss Teen United States-World. Well, of COURSE. :) "Why can't all pageants be this easy," I thought. So, for the past three weeks I have been preparing for Miss Teen United States-World. I have been tanning, working out, getting my nails done, buying clothes and clothes and clothes. I have been reading up on stuff such as the economy and my foundation that I will represent. I have been going over interview questions and doing fundraisers. I must say, pageant girls are some of the smartest, hardest working girls there are. They work their butt off to look the prettiest, sound the smartest, and just all around be the best! They are put infront of a large crowd to be judged inside and out. It is tough. However, I feel as though I am FULLY prepared for this pageant...except I have yet to pack! Haha, that's the next thing on the list! So, I will be updating my blog constantly on different events I have been attending. I hope you enjoy!
